All profits of City Beerfest go to the Lord Mayor's Appeal
City Beerfest has become an established City tradition in aid of fantastic causes. Come and raise a glass in support of four charities championed by the Lord Mayor’s Appeal who are addressing social issues and delivering ground breaking programmes that change, and save, people’s lives - the Samaritans, Place2Be, OnSide Youth Zones, National Numeracy and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
Help The Lord Mayor’s Appeal to create A Better City For All – one that is inclusive, healthy, skilled and fair.
By supporting City Beerfest you are enabling these charities to continue their vital work:
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award
Assisting this world leading youth charity, which gives 14-24 year olds from across the UK and from every possible background, the chance to develop skills for life and work particularly focusing on engagement within London. The partnership will work in areas of high deprivation, enabling a further 10,000 young people to access the life-changing programme. They are focusing on growing provision in areas of deprivation, financing participations, expedition equipment and DofE leader training so that cost is not a barrier to taking part.
National Numeracy
Low numeracy is holding 3.5 million Londoners back from fulfilling their potential. Funding for a new initiative - ‘Every Londoner Counts’ - which will help improve employability and financial inclusion by supporting thousands of Londoners in greatest need to build confidence, skills and positive attitudes to basic numeracy through a network of 500 newly-trained Numeracy Champions
Place2Be
Helping Place2Be to deliver a transformational mental health programme, active in 180 schools in London, equipping school leaders with the skills and knowledge to support their pupil’s emotional and mental health. As well as supporting Place2Think sessions giving staff a space to reflect with a Place2Be practitioner, focusing on the mental health needs of the whole school community.
OnSide Youth Zones
Enabling OnSide to build state of the art Youth Zones in areas of high deprivation. Every week an average of 4,200 young people visit the London Youth Zones and they are currently in Barking & Dagenham, Barnet and Croydon with a new one to open in Hammersmith & Fulham in 2023.
Samaritans
Supporting Samaritans to develop a revolutionary online wellbeing programme for employees in London and beyond. Over 35,000 people have accessed the Wellbeing in the Workplace training. As well as funding the London City Hub, with listening volunteers focused solely on online chat an email. Introducing the online chat channel is an integral part of Samaritans plan to be around for future generations.
